Audemars Piguet Holding SA, or simply Audemars Piguet, is a Swiss watchmaker that specializes in mechanical watches and clocks. Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet created Audemars Piguet in 1847, and it has remained a family-owned business ever since. Many renowned athletes and other individuals have worn Audemars Piguet wrist watches, and one of their most iconic brand slogans is "To Break The Rules, You Must First Master Them," which they coined in 2012. Every year, they create and manufacture roughly 40,000 timepieces. Since its inception, Audemars Piguet has pioneered a number of important breakthroughs in the watchmaking industry. They invented the world's first minute repeating movement for a wrist watch in 1892, for example. They then sold their product to Omega, a well-known and legendary wrist watch company. Furthermore, in 1921, they produced the world's first leaping hour wrist watch. Other important firsts in the watchmaking business include the world's first skeleton watch and the world's first luxury sports wristwatch, which is one of their most iconic achievements.
